Road distance is about 850–900 km via Haridwar. Most pilgrims take a train or flight to Haridwar, Rishikesh, or Dehradun, then a cab to Sonprayag/Gaurikund, then about 16 km to the temple. We book the chain so you are not assembling it yourself.
Rudra Abhishek at Kedarnath is done with a Vedic priest and samagri. Special darshan assistance reduces time in the general queue during the opening months. Elders often need pony (ghoda), palki, or a porter from Gaurikund — we arrange this in advance when possible.
The shrine is usually open from Akshaya Tritiya to around Kartik Purnima (dates change each year). May–June and September–October are the most used windows. Combine with Badrinath for Do Dham.

How the yatra is booked from Varanasi
There is no airport at Kedarnath. Typical path: Varanasi → Haridwar or Dehradun (train/flight) → cab to Gaurikund via Guptkashi/Sonprayag → 16 km by trek, pony, palki, or helicopter from Phata/Guptkashi.
We do not sell a fantasy “direct bus to the temple.” We sell a real yatra plan with buffers for rain and health.
Trek, pony, palki and helicopter
The path is steep and can be cold even in summer. Fit walkers trek with rests. Ghoda Sawari (pony) and palki (palanquin) are used by elders and children. Pittu (porters) carry bags.
Helicopter is weather-dependent and slots sell out. We assist with official booking. Foreign visitors should have travel insurance and realistic expectations if flights cancel.
Rudra Abhishek and special darshan
Share your preferred date and gotra. We coordinate a priest and materials at Kedarnath. Special darshan help is about less waiting — temple security still applies.
Opening weeks are the most crowded. Book early. Do not expect a private empty sanctum; expect organised help.
Suggested duration
Kedarnath alone from Varanasi is often 6–8 days including trains and rest. Do Dham (Kedarnath + Badrinath) is typically longer. Rushing a Himalayan yatra causes altitude and fatigue problems.
