Badrinath Temple honours Lord Vishnu as Badri Vishal and completes the Char Dham with Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. On the Alaknanda, Brahma Kapal is one of India’s most important places for Pind Daan and Shradh. From Varanasi we plan the Himalayan road yatra, temple darshan, Tapt Kund snan, and an English- or Hindi-speaking coordinator plus priest if you need ancestral rites.
The usual route is Varanasi to Haridwar, then the mountain road via Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Joshimath. Packages include Badri Vishal darshan, a dip at Tapt Kund (the hot spring by the temple), and optional Mana village — often called the last Indian village on this road — and Vasudhara Falls when weather allows.
At Brahma Kapal we arrange Pind Daan, tarpan, and Shradh with a Vedic priest. Many families travel here specifically for this rite. Share names and gotra so the sankalp is correct.
Do Dham (Kedarnath + Badrinath) is the most requested Himalayan combo. Opening dates follow the Hindu calendar. Book hotels and vehicles early for May–June and September–October.
What happens on a Badrinath yatra
After the mountain drive you rest, then visit Tapt Kund and the temple. Darshan lines move slowly in peak season. A coordinator keeps the group together and times meals around temple hours.
Mana and Vasudhara are extras for guests with energy left — not mandatory on a tired arrival day.
Brahma Kapal Pind Daan
Brahma Kapal is the ghat for ancestral offerings at Badrinath. The priest leads pind daan and tarpan by the Alaknanda. It is a solemn rite; allow unhurried time.
This can be combined with Gaya Pind Daan or Kashi rites if your family wants a full pitru circuit across India. We will not force extra ceremonies you did not request.
Do Dham and Char Dham
Do Dham usually covers Kedarnath and Badrinath in one Uttarakhand journey (often 5–7 days from Haridwar, longer from Varanasi). Char Dham adds Yamunotri and Gangotri.

When the temple is open
Badrinath usually opens in late April or May and closes in November. Exact dates are announced each year. Winter access is not a standard tourist yatra.
If your dates fall near opening or closing, tell us early so hotels still exist.
For international visitors
This is a high mountain road, not a city temple hop. Expect long drives, cool nights, and simple hotels at some stops. Carry warm clothes, medicines, and ID. Your coordinator explains Tapt Kund etiquette (hot water, crowding) and temple dress rules in English.
