There is no railway station and no airport at Kedarnath temple. Train or flight goes only as far as Haridwar, Rishikesh or Dehradun. Then cab to Gaurikund / Sonprayag, then about 16 km by trek, pony (Ghoda Sawari), palki or helicopter.

Varanasi to Kedarnath distance (road, train, car)
- By road / by car: about 850–900 km via Haridwar (not a comfortable same-day drive for families).
- By train: Varanasi → Haridwar or Rishikesh. There is no Varanasi–Kedarnath train to the temple.
- By flight: no flight to Kedarnath. Fly toward Dehradun (or via Delhi), then road + trek/helicopter.
- Gaurikund / Sonprayag: last road points before the 16 km temple stretch.
- Reverse: Kedarnath to Varanasi / Kashi Vishwanath is the same corridor in reverse.
How to go to Kedarnath from Varanasi
- Train or flight from Varanasi to Haridwar / Rishikesh / Dehradun.
- Cab to Sonprayag or Gaurikund (we can book this leg).
- 16 km to the temple: walk, pony, palki, porter, or helicopter from Phata / Guptkashi (weather and slots apply).
